(THIS ONE IS EASIER TO READ) How to go from confused to confident with mosaic crochet

Hello again, Reader,

Sorry to email you twice so soon... for some odd reason, unbeknownst to me, my last email got send with a red background. SORRY! Looking at that email is awful. And unfortunately I cannot change that now, so instead I am resending it with a WHITE background. Enjoy!

Hey there,

As a passionate crocheter, I’d be willing to bet that “finally mastering mosaic crochet” is pretty high up on your goals list for this year.

You’ve probably already saved a few patterns, watched a tutorial (or three), maybe even attempted a swatch. And now you’re ready for more. You want to go from curious to confident—with charts, color changes, borders, and all.

In my experience, if you want to truly feel confident with mosaic crochet, you need to focus on three things:

  1. Understanding how the technique actually works
Knowing the difference between overlay and inset mosaic, how to read a chart, and how to follow the stitch pattern is foundational. Once that “clicks,” everything becomes so much easier.
  2. Learning how to fix common mistakes
Let’s be real—unraveling five rows because of one misplaced double crochet is no one’s idea of a good time. Knowing how to read your stitches and recover from mistakes is a game-changer.
  3. Choosing the right yarn and colors for bold, beautiful designs
Mosaic crochet shines when your color choices are on point. But if your contrast is too low or your yarn tangles constantly? It’s frustrating. Learning how to plan ahead will save you so much time and heartache.

✨ And that’s why I’m so excited for the Mosaic Crochet Summit, happening August 15–17!

We’ve got over a dozen sessions dedicated to helping you master the technique, fix mistakes with confidence, and choose color combos like a pro.

From overlay vs. inset, to using stitch markers and yarn carousels, to finishing off your blanket beautifully—this summit was designed to help you grow your skills and love every stitch.

You just need someone to break it down and show you where to begin. That’s exactly why I created the Mosaic Crochet Summit. Blue and gray christmas tree skirt crochet pattern

Hey Reader! I know... Christmas may be the last thing on your mind right now. 😊 But one of my favorite things about summer is sneaking in a little holiday crochet! It means I can enjoy the slower pace of stitching now and spend more time making gifts (or simply soaking up the season) once Christmas arrives. So today, I'm excited to share the newest addition to the Nordic Star Collection—the Nordic Star Christmas Tree Skirt! If you've stitched one of the Nordic Star blankets, the scarf, or the...
